Mike Gibbs

Mike Gibbs is Associate General Counsel – Projects, supporting all legal aspects of the development and implementation of ConnectGen’s wind, solar and energy storage projects.

Prior to joining ConnectGen, Mike was a senior counsel and earlier a senior attorney at NextEra Energy where for more than eight years he advised NextEra’s development, engineering and construction and integrated supply chain business units on acquisitions and sales of solar and solar + storage projects, power purchase agreements, renewable product purchase agreements, solar module, battery energy storage system and power conversion equipment supply agreements, construction contracts, and other commercial contracts and matters related to development and construction of solar and solar + storage projects.

Previously, Mike was a Counsel in the Energy Practice and M&A Group at Jones Day where for more than eighteen years he advised on negotiated acquisitions and sales of fossil-fuel, nuclear and wind energy generation facilities, construction of wind energy and transmission facilities, power purchase agreements, and M&A transactions.

Mike holds a BA in Political Science from Middlebury College and a JD from Fordham University School of Law.
