Kelly has nearly three decades of experience in the energy industry. She began her career in natural gas and capacity trading and supply optimization working for FGU, the third largest shipper on the FGT pipeline system. From there, she moved to the supply side as a Manager of Gas Origination for Duke Energy Trading and Marketing. In 1997, she joined Duke’s fledgling IPP group developing natural gas-fired power plants throughout the United States. In 2005, Kelly moved into renewable project development as Project Development Director for FPLE (now NextEra). She later joined BP as Director of Wind Power developing projects throughout the western US before joining First Wind as Vice President, Development for West/Hawaii Regions. After the SunEdison acquisition of First Wind, Kelly moved into international development as Vice President, Development for Asia/Australia. She subsequently joined UPC Indonesia as Director of Development before moving back to the US two years later and joining the ConnectGen team.
Kelly has led development of 5+ GW of wind, solar and natural gas-fired combined and simple-cycle projects that were built over the last 18 years.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida.
